CLAS Faculty Council

The CLAS Faculty Council is the major deliberative and legislative body of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, consisting of elected representatives from the tenured and tenure-track faculty and instructors and senior instructors. The CLAS Faculty Council is responsible for conveying the will of the faculty to the Dean in matters related to the academic enterprise.

Who Serves on the Council?

Within the College, each department and Interdisciplinary Studies shall have one rostered tenured, tenure-track, or IRC faculty representative sit on the CLAS Faculty Council. IRC faculty must have service as part of their contract to serve on the Council.

When does the Council meet?

The CLAS Faculty Council meets once each month except during June, July, and August. Special meetings or sessions may be called by the Chair or by petition of at least twenty-five percent of the voting members of the CLAS Faculty Council.
