Online Drop Box

NEW: This service is for undergraduate and graduate students.

To get started using the Online Drop Box (ODB), login to WCOnline and choose the Online Drop Box schedule.

This asynchronous service provides informed reader response, writing tips, and suggestions for revision. Students who want to learn specific writing strategies, talk through ideas, and/or discuss their writing process should make in-person or live-online appointments.

Need-to-Know Information

  • Students are limited to one ODB appointment per week.

  • Please attach a file by the appoitnment start time or the appointment will be marked missed. You can attach a file or files to the bottom of your appointment pop-up window.

  • Consultants will read up to 10 double-spaced pages per appointment and provide written feedback 24 hours after the appointment date/start time.

    • When your submission has been reviewed, you will receive 2 auto-notification emails from The Writing Center at CU Denver. The first email will contain the document you uploaded for review with comments from the consultant. The second email will ask you to "Please provide feedback..." about your session. Please note that these emails sometimes hit the Junk/Spam folders.

    Other Important Policies

    • This is not a copyediting service: Consultants will not edit, proofread, or rewrite text. They will provide general and specific feedback about how the writing can be improved. For more focused help on the grammatical aspects of your paper, please make an appointment for our in-person or live-online services.
    • Confirmation of Visit forms will not be provided for Drop Box sessions; the letter and comments on your draft can be used as proof of attendance.
    • Same-day appointments via the Online Drop Box and another schedule will be canceled to prevent multiple consultants from providing simulteaneous support on the same piece of writing.
