K-12 Programs

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is committed to enhancing K-12 education through a variety of outreach projects. We support department-housed programs that welcome thousands of students and their parents to campus each year. CLAS touches K-12 classrooms throughout the state by offering CU Denver courses in high schools, providing summer camp opportunities, and hosting a variety of educational events for youth. 

CU Succeed

The CU Succeed Silver and Gold Programs collaborate with Colorado high schools to offer the opportunity to earn college credit through enrollment in CU Denver courses. CU Succeed courses are conveniently taught in the high schools by CU Denver-approved high school faculty and lecturers. These courses, offered at a reduced tuition rate, provide exposure to the rigor of the college experience, which helps facilitate the transition from high school to college. CU Succeed students earn real college credits, which are recorded on an official CU Denver transcript.

The Denver Writing Project - Young Writers Camps

The Denver Writing Project Young Writers Camps, housed in the English Department, offers a range of summer writing camps for students in 2nd through 12th grade. Camp locations include Denver, Aurora, and Centennial. Participants spend a fun-filled week of the summer with other young writers exploring and developing their creative writing abilities.
