About Us

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Office of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) offers academic programs to traditional and non-degree seeking students. CPE, also known as Extended Studies, Distance Education, and Outreach Programs, is a mainstay of lifelong learning, providing opportunities for learners of many ages and circumstances to enhance their education, to follow a passion, or to try something new. Some CPE programs provide continuing education units (CEUs) to practicing professionals in fields that require state licensure and professional development. CPE works with academic departments to offer courses, workshops, events, conferences, summer camps, webinars, speaker series, and travel study courses within the United States.

CLAS CPE helps to develop specialized programs for businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. CPE partners with outside organizations to provide conference speakers, develop custom training programs, and work with clients to create workshops and series to meet human resource needs for employees, donors, boards, volunteers, and the public.
