Get trained to qualify for licensure as a Natural Medicine Facilitator in the state of Colorado
Our Facilitator Training Program answers the call for ethically, rigorously trained facilitators of psychedelic services.
You will be part of a meticulously crafted, tightly formatted 16-week, 2-course series. Our program is tailored to train you to apply psychedelic-facilitation skills within a variety of clinical contexts. We value the time and resources you are investing in your training and have built flexibility and expedience into our training curriculum through a mix of weekly self-paced online learning modules and scheduled virtual classroom meetings two evenings per week. We will also offer optional hybrid opportunities for in-person or virtual instruction and community building throughout the term. Upon completion of our program, trainees can work with our carefully chosen, state-approved practicum partners, and can be ready to apply for state licensure in under 6 months.
Our program is responsible for training future Facilitators to provide ethical, safe, and effective psychedelic-assisted treatment. To fulfill this responsibility, we hold our trainees to three core competencies:
Ethical Integrity
Our program holds a deep a commitment to promoting client safety, ethical standards, and providing culturally responsive care throughout treatment. By keeping respect and humility at the forefront, this non-negotiable competency places the well-being of future clients at the forefront. Key elements include training on how to conduct a comprehensive screening, recognizing a client’s needs, understanding one’s own scope of practice, knowing when psychedelic-assisted treatment may not be appropriate, ensuring clients are providing informed consent, the appropriate use of supportive touch and respect for client boundaries, understanding power dynamics, and how to mitigate psychological and physical risks of psychedelic-assisted treatment.
Psychedelic Expertise
Our program believes that effective facilitators must possess a deep, multidisciplinary understanding of the psychedelic field. This competency is not exclusive to academic knowledge. It involves foundational knowledge of historical, cultural, and legal dimensions of psychedelic healing. Ignorance of the substances or the broader context can erode trust, endanger clients, and misrepresent the practice.
Embodied Presence
We believe effective Facilitators must be able to cultivate their own resilience, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and groundedness. Doing so will enable our Facilitators to embody a safe and compassionate presence across a variety of positive and challenging client experiences. Here, we emphasize ongoing personal development and the ability to stay centered in the face of emotional or spiritual intensity.
