U-RISE stands for Undergraduate Research in Interdisciplinary Science Experiences. It is a program targeted at Freshmen and Sophomores; however, all students all eligible to apply. Our institutionally-supported U-RISE program can serve as a bridge to the MARC U-STAR program not only for freshmen and sophomore students, but also for transfer students, those switching major programs, or those seeking additional coursework or background in the behavioral and biomedical sciences. The U-RISE program is designed to engage students in discussions of research careers and assist in getting students access to early, authentic research experiences to support their interest in pursing a Ph.D. in a biomedical-related discipline. Canvas Outage
Canvas access has been restored for our users, but the service reliability remains uncertain. Due to recent events, Canvas has had intermittent outages which are at the discretion of the vendor and may occur during a final exam. Faculty and staff may continue to use Canvas, but we strongly advise faculty and students to prepare a contingency plan for turning in assignments and final exams in the event Canvas access becomes unavailable again.
Instructure, the company that owns Canvas, has provided an FAQ about the incident, which may not answer all your questions. We will share more information if it becomes available.
