Online Application
After you collect your documents in a digital format, you may begin the online application. Please make sure to select the "Continuing and Professional Education" application. Then you will be able to select the ESL Academy application. Once you complete this step, the ESL Academy will contact you by email in 3-5 business days about any missing documents and placement testing.
In order to receive your I-20 and visa, you will need to prove sufficient financial resources to study at the University of Colorado Denver. You will need to submit your bank statement. You can also provide a bank statement from a personal sponsor along with the Certification of Financial Resources form and return it to the ESL Academy with a his/her bank statement. Government sponsored students will need to provide the financial support letter in order to finish the application process.
Application Processing and Placement Testing Fee
There is a $120.00 USD Application Processing and Placement Testing Fee due upon submission of your application. Conditionally admitted students to the University of Colorado Denver do not need to pay this fee. You will be directed to the application status page for you to pay the $120.00 USD Fee. Please contact us with any problems at esl@ucdenver.edu.
Refunds: The University of Colorado Denver does not provide refunds for Application Fees. Please be sure you read all instructions.
English Language Proficiency Interview
This is a great opportunity for prospective students who do not live in Denver to get to know more about the ESL Academy and the city. The ESL interview lasts 10-15 minutes. This allows us to get to know you, your goals and your English language skills. Our staff is available to speak with you Monday- Friday 9-4 (Colorado time). We look forward to speaking with you.
*This step can be bypassed if you submit high enough TOEFL or IELTS scores. Please submit your official score sheet for evaluation.
Receive Your I-20
When you complete all of these steps, we will send you your I-20 in 3-5 business days. (Business days do not include Saturday or Sunday.) You will receive an e-mail with your I-20.
Please see our next steps section to learn more about getting a visa and coming to Denver.
