Ali comes to us from Colorado State University, where she was the Associate Director of Development for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She also worked previously as Development and Stewardship Officer for Western Resource Advocates in Boulder, as Assistant Director of Development for University Programs at the University of Connecticut Foundation, and as Director of Workplace Partnerships for the Greater Hartford Arts Council. A well rounded, liberal-arts educated person, Ali did a short stint as an Adjunct Geography Professor at Central Connecticut State University while she earned her M.S. in Geography there. She also got her B.A. in Art History from CCSU. She now lives in Broomfield with her husband Benjamin, their two dogs (Charlie and Mazzy), and cat (Sue).
Ali is a Colorado native who loves to hike, camp and spend time in the mountains. She describes herself as an avid (or rabid, depending on the day) Broncos Fan, so if she’s ever blue on Mondays this semester you’ll know why. She is taking Cristina Sloan’s old office up on the 13th floor of the Lawrence Street Center, and she’s excited to start meeting and working with all of you. Her contact information is 303-315-2095 and alison.fernandez@ucdenver.edu.
