Congratulations to everyone for nearing the end of another semester. Thank you for everything that you do each and every day to assure our students’ success. Saturday is winter commencement. The joy of the event is contagious and I hope that you feel some of it.

Here is a quick update on the 2.6% budget cut process.

• CLAS submitted a list of positions reflecting known retirements and resignations that will take effect prior to July 1, 2024 to the Budget Office in early November.
• The decision to do so was vetted through the CLAS shared governance bodies with the CLAS BPC taking the lead.
• The Budget Office has vetted our list and, thus, we are finished with the 2.6% cut.
• The current retirement incentive that is open to all faculty and staff who are eligible does not include the positions for the 2.6% cut.
