On October 10, Faye Caronan, Associate Professor of Ethnic Studies and Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs, hosted a celebration of CU Denver's Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) designation. Speakers and performers at the event included Vice Chancellor for DEI Antonio Farias; Shauna Medeiros-Tuilaepa, a member of the Denver Asian American Pacific Islander Commission and Colorado Asian Pacific United; Medeiros-Tuilaepa; the Philippine American Society of Colorado Dance Troupe; Chancellor Michelle Marks, CU President Todd Saliman, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston.
Caronan is the lead on the AANAPISI $1.8 million grant, which involves outreach to local high schools, academic support, leadership training, and career exploration services.
