Convocation Conversations
Dear Students,
I am so proud to be welcoming you to CU Denver. In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), high-level critical thinking and comprehensive learning are infused with practical, career-focused skills throughout the curriculum. As a result, our graduates attract top employers and become intellectually-engaged global citizens who are ready to make a positive impact on our ever-changing world.
This is a very unusual beginning of term for all of us, but for those of you starting your college experience at CU Denver it will be especially unique. Please know that your safety and wellbeing (and those of your classmates) has been at the front of everyone’s mind as we've prepared extensively for this challenge. Adaptability in the face of adversity is something we pride ourselves in teaching to the leaders of tomorrow in this college. The breadth of skills and knowledge that your liberal arts and sciences education will afford you have never been more valuable than they are now.
You will have a lot of questions as you embark on this journey. You should know that there are dedicated teams of people across the university here to help you achieve your academic goals. A good go-to resource will be your CLAS Academic Advisor. Once you get to know them better you will have your advisor’s individual email address, but for now feel free to reach out with questions to CLAS_Advising@ucdenver.edu.
I look forward to hearing about all the wonderful things you are going to be doing and accomplishing as the latest class of CU Denver Lynx!
