Meet Your Department Staff!

Stephen Frazier - Administrative Assistant

Hello everyone! My name is Stephen and I am the Administrative Assistant for the department of Health and Behavioral Sciences. I hold a B.A. in Psychology along with several years of experience working in behavioral health before transitioning to CU. One of my favorite parts of being in this role is the opportunity to connect with students like you. I try my best to be a great source for information around any inquiry you may have and you are more than welcome to email me here with any questions. If I do not have the answer myself, I will certainly be able to point you in the right direction to someone who does (more than likely a member of our amazing faculty or one of our fantastic advisors!).

Maria Rase - Senior Business Operations Coordinator

My name is Maria Rase – I joined the university originally in the Civil Engineering department, many years ago, when it was just down the hall from where HBS is now. Being back on the third floor of the North Classroom building is like returning to my first home! So excited and happy to be joining the department.

I came to HBS by way of the Math department. Please feel free to stop by and have a conversation! My office is always a safe zone to share, celebrate or reset.

On a personal note, I have been married for over 27 years to my wonderful hubby and we have two awesome kids. My favorite things in the world are family, Munich, and Star Wars.

Student Spotlight

Photo of Kathleen Le

Kathleen Le

Hello everyone! My name is Kathleen Le and during undergrad, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Business Fundamentals. Prior to entering CU Denver, I thought I was going to pursue pre-pharmacy and declared my major as Biochemistry. It wasn’t until my second year that I stumbled upon the Introduction to Public Health course and have been fascinated ever since. Public Health takes on a population-based approach, which was something that intrigued me and had me switch my major to Public Health. My academic interests include learning about social determinants of health and how we can make health more equitable for all. My interests lay in the intersection of healthcare and business, in which I hope to pursue a career in Healthcare Management and Administration.

I am also part of the 5-Year BA/BS-MPH program with CU Denver and the Colorado School of Public Health (CSPH). My selected concentration is in Health Systems, Management, and Policy. After acceptance of the program, I took two graduate courses that double dipped for the B.S and MPH degrees during my undergrad. It was with that experience that I felt more prepared on what to expect when I become fully matriculated as a master's student. Currently, I am a fulltime student at the CSPH and anticipate obtaining my degree in the Summer of 2023. With being in this unique, accelerated program, I am very fortunate to work simultaneously with both CU Anschutz faculty members and CU Denver. I can connect with advisors and faculty members for support as I continue my educational journey and best prepare myself to be successful in my future professional career.
