Thomas Kaufmann teaches ENGL 2030 and ENGL 3160 at ICB. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Learning Design and Leadership within the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership, specializing in MOOCs and communities of practice. He previously served as an English Language Fellow for the U.S. Department of State at an academic writing center in Indonesia and has nearly 20 years of experience in international education and English composition. Outside the classroom, he is an avid surfer, stand-up paddleboard racer, and a lover of travel, technology, and tea.
