Events can be about any number of things and have all kinds of content. What they share in common, however, is that they have an event date, duration and location. They might be events that feature speakers, in which case it's helpful to have biographical information.

If content about the event is developed in a PDF file containing photos and text graphics for print, ask the creator for the source material (text and photos, not text images) from which the print document was created.

Note: The university event management system Localist will only allow linking to event webpages and not pdf files. Users are also prevented from including text graphics and logos.

Include only photos and, if required, logos of possible sponsors. Don't include images of text. Logos or logotypes are a type of image of text that normally have minimal text that can adequately be provided in the alt text. Sometimes event sponsors may require the display of their logos, making them essential, and they are often designed into print formats (event program or flier perhaps). Don't design a logo for the event and include it in the page.

It's also not necessary to include your department logo or wordmark because the webpage is already branded for CU Denver and the college. For additional information or for guidance, contact the CLAS Webmaster.
