I hope all of you got time to relax and recharge over the break and that you are looking forward to this new year and semester as much as I am. While we got off to a snowy start, I loved feeling the energy that we had on campus Tuesday as the students brought their enthusiasm and drive back to classrooms and common spaces. People are the heart of this university, and we have a truly remarkable student body, staff, and faculty in CLAS.
While our current budget situation presents challenges it also brings opportunities for us to work together to make our college what we want it to be in the future. Tomorrow, at noon, in Student Commons Building 1500 and via zoom, I will host another in a series of forums to talk about the budget cuts that CLAS submitted to leadership and any updates we’ve received about the process moving forward. I appreciated all the feedback from the December 15th budget planning forum, and I will continue to keep everyone in the loop as we move forward in implementing cuts. I believe the more conversations we have the more transparency we can achieve, and I want all of you to feel like we are working together in CLAS on doing what’s best for our college and the people in it. If you have questions or need the zoom link please reach out to Karen.Fennell@ucdenver.edu and I look forward to catching up with all of you and answering as many questions as possible tomorrow.
