Tuesday, Nov 12th: Geospatial Amateurs, 5:30 – 8:00 pm

This group will be meeting on the eve of GIS Day off-campus at Stoney’s to focus on two powerful open projects that can expand your geospatial superpowers: Elasticsearch and PostGIS. Snacks are provided.

Wednesday, Nov 13th: GIS Day

Photo-Mapping Auraria Campus - 10:00am

After an introduction to Mapillary at the Discovery Wall, we’ll go outside and collect photo-data (Weather permitting). Bring a smartphone and a jacket.

Art with Map data - 12:30pm

Make vector graphics out of OpenStreetMap or contour data, then take your creations to the Innovation Garage to cut a sticker.

Geospatial Lightning Talks - 2:00pm

Hear about projects that are happening on campus and in the metro area (to give a talk on any area of broad interest please contact diane.fritz@ucdenver.edu for more information).

Humanitarian Mapathon - following talks

Hotosm.org task on laptops, drop in to join at any time, we’ll wrap up around 5:30pm.

Thursday, Nov 14th: RM-URISA Career Night, 5:30 – 8:30 pm

Meet with geospatial professionals and enjoy FREE Food! All Students are welcome and no RSVP is required. Drop on by to explore jobs that use geospatial skills and get your resume reviewed after a quick workshop by the writing center.
