As many of you know, Mentor Collective is an international online mentoring community, and CU Denver is one of many institutions to partner with them to provide support through alumni mentorships. The program matches CU Denver students with highly qualified CU Denver alumni mentors based on common interests, background, academics, and professional aspirations. In this first year of partnership, by the latest count, 537 students have been matched with mentor volunteers. Additionally, I’m thrilled to share that a Psychology major, Sandy Vang, was chosen as the first place winner in the Mentor Collective Spring Scholarship contest. We were amazed by the number and quality of the submissions to the contest, and plan to continue to explore this avenue for supporting student success. You can find Sandy's contest submission here. She produced a great video with advice for new CU Denver students, so please feel free to share it widely.
