Dr. Kyoung Nan Kim is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Denver, where she’s been a dedicated member of the faculty since 2015.
With a focus on both teaching and research, Dr. Kim currently serves as the Biochemistry Program Director and an academic advisor for chemistry and biochemistry students. Her impressive teaching record includes a wide range of courses, from General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to advanced subjects like Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Instrumental Chemistry. She’s been recognized for her commitment to students, earning Excellent Teaching Awards from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and The National Society of Leadership and Success.
Dr. Kim holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame. Her current research interests, where she serves as a Co-Investigator, involve developing near-infrared chemiluminescent nanoprobes for cancer imaging and precision surgery.
Outside of the classroom and lab, she actively contributes to the department and university through various committees and as the Chemistry Club Advisor.
