Withdrawal Options

Regular Withdrawal

Students are permitted to withdraw from courses after census date and through the tenth week of classes. Any courses dropped via your UCDAccess portal during this time frame are considered withdrawals and will receive a grade of "W".

Late Withdrawal

After the published deadline to withdraw, students will need to submit a late withdrawal petition to the CLAS Advising Office to be reviewed by the Director of Undergraduate Advising for permission. The petition can be acquired in the CLAS Advising office or downloaded here.  Approved petitions will receive a grade of "W".

Retroactive Withdrawal
(after the semester has concluded)

To petition a withdrawal of courses after the semester has concluded based on extenuating circumstances, students must submit a retroactive withdrawal petition to the Academic Standards Committee. Students should include supporting documentation detailing extenuating circumstances.  Approved petitions will receive a grade of "W"
