Editing Services

The Writing Center maintains a list of qualified editors for interested faculty and community members. Rates depend on individual editor as well as type of editing requested and turnaround time. Some editors charge by the word, while other editors charge by the hour. In general, you can expect to pay at least $40/hour for basic copyediting. 

Interested faculty should contact Justin Bain with the following information: 

• Name and contact information (email or phone)
• Topic of paper and specific field/discipline
  • Length of paper
  • Deadline
• Type of editing (basic copyediting, organization, argument, citations, etc.)

Once Justin has received this information, he will forward it to editors who best match the requirements. Interested editors will then contact the requestor directly to discuss payment, etc.
