Candice Shelby is Professor of Philosophy at CU Denver.  She has published widely in the history of philosophy, metaphysics, and epistemology, but in recent years has focused on Philosophy of Science and Philosophy of Psychology.  Her 2016 book, Addiction:  A Philosophical Perspective, was published by Palgrave MacMillan.  She has served in a variety of positions across CU Denver in her 30 years on campus, including as Chair of the Philosophy Department, Executive Director for the Center for Ethics (now closed), and as Chair of the University Curriculum Committee.  She will be serving as interim Director of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program for the academic year 2025-2026.
