Academic Opportunities
CLAS EPCC Seeks Applications for Student Representatives
Are you looking for an opportunity to get involved as a student representative on a governance committee? Have you ever been interested in learning more about how courses, curriculum and academic policies get reviewed and approved?
The CLAS Educational Policies and Curriculum Committee (EPCC) seeks one undergraduate CLAS student and one graduate CLAS student to serve as student representatives to the committee for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. This committee is responsible for reviewing and approving all CLAS courses, program curriculum and academic policies. Having student members on the committee is very important so that student voices are included in decisions about curriculum and educational policy. To learn more about what the EPCC does, click here. If you have any questions, please contact CLAS.EPCC@ucdenver.edu.
The voting membership consists of 6 CLAS faculty and 2 CLAS students (one undergraduate and one graduate).
The EPCC will meet on the fourth Friday of each month August-May, from 12:30-2:30pm. Meetings will vary when the fourth Friday falls during a break. Meetings may be in person or conducted online via Zoom. To prepare for each meeting, members spend approximately 1-3 hours reviewing proposal materials and identifying questions, items for discussion and conditions (if any) for approvals for each proposal.
This is a year-long commitment and students must be full-time students pursuing a degree within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the 2023-2024 academic year to qualify. Additionally, the undergraduate student representative must have completed 15 credits at CU Denver and 45 credits overall by the end of the Spring 2023 semester, and the graduate student representative must have completed 6 credits at CU Denver by the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. Friday, March 17th, 2023 and decision notifications will be sent out on or before May 5th, 2023.
