CU Denver in Netherlands: Medicinal Cannabis and Industrial Hemp in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is one of the epicenters of the global medicinal cannabis and industrial hemp sectors. Local landscapes, both rural and urban, provide unique settings to examine cultural changes, normalization of cannabis as medicine, and hemp products designed to replace petroleum-based products with more sustainable materials. The course is a non-consumption cannabis course focused on 1) therapeutic possibilities of cannabidiol (CBD), a compound found naturally in hemp plants, and 2) hemp (Cannabis sativa), a plant that is not used as a recreational drug because of its low (under 0.5%) content of the psychotropic chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This study abroad program runs July 10-24, 2022. Apply by March 1.
