Year End Evaluations and Outstanding Student Awards - Due March 31

Each year, PhD students are asked to complete a self-assesment of their progress in the PhD program. All HBS PhD students must complete this form linked below by March 31st. Information gathered in this form will be used by faculty to assess your progress in the program and will be included in your student file.

Additionally, if you would like to nominate yourself for one of our student awards, please be prepared to upload the supporting documents to the form:

HBS Doctoral Student Research Award: a first- or sole-authored manuscript (a paper published in the last 12 months, unpublished work in progress, or a dissertation chapter). 

HBS Doctoral Student Teaching Award: a 1-page, single-spaced summary of your teaching activities for the last 12 months including a summary of FCQs, new courses developed, existing courses you prepped for the first time, creative approaches attempted in the classroom, or any other information you would like to submit in support of your teaching success. 

HBS Doctoral Student Service Award: a 1-page, single-spaced summary of your major services activities to the department, the profession, and the community for the last 12 months including work on committees, GA and advising for the department, reviewing for peer-reviewed journals, mentoring fellow students, or any other activities you deem appropriate.

CLAS EPCC Seeks Grad Student Representative for 2022-23 Academic Year

Are you looking for an opportunity to get involved on as a student representative on a governance committee? Have you ever been interested in learning more about how courses, curriculum and academic policies get reviewed and approved? If you are a graduate student who has completed six credits at CU Denver, please consider nominating yourself to serve on the CLAS Educational Policies and Curriculum Committee (EPCC) for the 2022-2023 academic year, by submitting this application.  Applications will be accepted until 3:00pm on Friday, March 25, 2022 and decision notifications will be sent out during the week of April 15, 2022.

COSPH Epidemiology Speaker Series

Monday, March 7th 12:00-1:00pm: "Data ownership, participatory approaches, and mixed methods studies with BIPOC communities" with Brittany Jock, PhD. Dr. Jock is Bear Clan from the Akwesasne Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Territory. Her public health training centers on the design and application of mixed methods research and the development, implementation, and evaluation of health programs. Dr. Jock’s research combines epidemiology with social and behavioral science to respond to the obesity and chronic disease inequities experienced by Indigenous Nations and communities. Her research focuses on responding to the dietary shift from Indigenous traditional food systems to highly processed market food systems that resulted from the ongoing colonization of Turtle Island (North America).

Teaching Opportunity at La Salle Summer Academy 2022

Universidad de La Salle (Colombia) is pleased to announce opportunities to teach through the International La Salle Summer Academy in June 2022, June 15th-30th. The language of instruction is English. They are seeking proposals for syllabus that can integrate and analyze subjects which can be relevant for students from various academic backgrounds.

Qualitative & Mixed Methods Seminar Mini-Series

Wednesday, March 16th 12:00-1:00pm: "Leveraging technology to collect qualitative & mixed methods data in asynchronous & remote settings" with Sheana Bull, PhD, MPH. Technologies including video conferencing, text messaging, and mobile apps have facilitated researcher ability to collect, manage, and analyze data from remote populations. Dr. Bull will present how to use technology to gather qualitative and quantitative data from three specific types of studies: for N-of-1 (within subject) formative trials, Just in Adaptive Intervention Assessments (JITAI), and nominal group assessments.
