The Ethnic Studies Department is a part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). If you are an Ethnic Studies major or minor, you will have an advisor through the CLAS advising. To find out more, visit: https://clas.ucdenver.edu/advising/. The Ethnic Studies specific advisor is Dennis Green. If you are enrolled in another school or college or if you are undecided visit CU Denver Advising Centers to find your advisor.

Early Alert and the Campus Assessment, Evaluation and Response (CARE) Team

These programs are designed to 1) communicate with undergraduate students about their academic performance at various points during the semester and 2) provide support and resources to deal with academic and life challenges for all students, respectively. More specifically, the Early Alert system helps to identify students who need assistance based on their academic performance, class participation, and/or class behavior. Both you and your advisor will be notified of any alerts. If you are contacted by your advisor to discuss your academic performance respond quickly in order to set up a meeting. This system does not reprimand but connects students with additional academic support. CARE reports can be submitted by anyone who is concerned about a CU Denver student (this includes staff, faculty, family, friends, and fellow students) here: https://www.ucdenver.edu/student/health-wellness/care-team. After a report is submitted the student is contacted with offers of support and assistance which may be academic, financial, and/or health-related in nature. I use both Early Alert and CARE reports for students in need of support.
