Teaching assistants in the Department of English at CU Denver teach at least one section of ENGL 1020 - Core Composition I per semester. Teaching assistants must enroll in ENGL 5913 - Practicum in Language and Rhetoric during the fall of their first semester of teaching. Teaching experience is not required.

Teaching assistants must attend a paid ($450), five-day orientation session during the week before the fall semester begins. As of Fall 2021, the current stipend for teaching one section of ENGL 1020 is $3,864 per semester. Screening of applications begins March 10 and continues until positions are filled. (Note that we do not offer any graduate tuition waivers.)
