CU Denver Alum Steven Espada Dawson Reading Thursday, Feb 26

On Thursday, February 26, CU Denver alum Steven Espada Dawson will read from his debut poetry collection Late to the Search Party, which came out in 2025 from Scribner, and which Roxane Gay called a book of "exquisitely crafted elegies."

The reading is free and open to the public and take place at 6:30pm in the Zenith Room, Tivoli Building 640, on the Auraria Campus. After the reading there will be a brief Q&A. The Tivoli Station Bookstore will be selling copies of Late to the Search Party, which Mr. Dawson will be available to sign.   

Steven Espada Dawson is from East Los Angeles. The son of a Mexican immigrant, he is a former Ruth Lilly Fellow and Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing Fellow. His poems appear in many journals and have been anthologized in Best New Poets, Best of the Net, the Pushcart Prize anthology, and Sarabande’s Another Last Call: Poems on Addiction & Deliverance. He has taught creative writing at universities, libraries, and prisons across the country and currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin, where he serves as Poet Laureate.
