On Thursday, October 17, poets HADARA BAR-NADAV & RAJIV MOHABIR will read for us in the Tivoli Building's Zenith Room (room 640) at 6:30pm.
HADARA BAR-NADAV is the author of five poetry collections, most recently The Animal Is Chemical (Four Way Books, 2024), chosen for the Levis Prize by Jericho Brown, and The New Nudity (Saturnalia Books, 2017), winner of the Saturnalia Prize. Her awards include a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Lucille Medwick Award from the Poetry Foundation; her poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, The Believer, The Kenyon Review, The New Republic, Ploughshares, Poetry, and elsewhere. She teaches at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
RAJIV MOHABIR is the author of four books of poetry, most recently Whale Aria (Four Way, 2023), which won the Gold Medal for Poetry from the Forward Indies, and Cutlish, which was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He has also published a memoir, Antiman (Restless, 2021), which was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award in Gay Nonfiction and the 2022 PEN Open Book Award, and he has translated Lalbihari Sharma’s I Even Regret Night: Holi Songs of Demerara (Kaya Press, 2019). He teaches at the University of Colorado Boulder.
