The CU Denver Data Science Symposium will bring together data science communities from CU Denver, whether they be the communities that pursue research in core data science, applications of data science in various fields of research, or education programs in data science. Participants will learn about data science research, education and applications, share the current state of data science, and discuss and plan for the future of data science at CU Denver.
Participants will come from different disciplines across the two CU Denver campuses and beyond, including the university administration, faculty and students, as well as from industry, government and academia in the region and across the nation. The symposium agenda includes expert panels on data science research, education and applications, lightening talks, and poster sessions, as well as keynotes from:
· Kevin Koy, Director of Data Science at IDEO, previously founding Executive Director of UC Berkeley’s Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) and Managing Director of Data Science and AI Affiliates Programs at Stanford University
· Fernando Perez, UC Berkeley Professor, creator of IPython and co-founder of Project Jupyter, National Academy of Science Kavli Frontiers of Science Fellow
Registration is free but required, and on first-come-first-serve basis. Visit the symposium website to register and claim your seat ASAP. Inquiries should be directed to datascience@ucdenver.edu.
