UE Seeks Next Director of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities

The Undergraduate Experiences Office invites applications for the position of Director of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (DURCA), to begin Spring 2018. The DURCA will provide leadership to advance the goal of providing undergraduate students with a wide range of opportunities in research, creative, and other scholarly activities. The DURCA will oversee centralized programs such as UROP and RaCAS, promote collaboration with faculty and administrators in all schools/colleges to foster URCA, promote initiatives to expand student participation in URCA, and seek funding for new URCA initiatives. The successful candidate will have a passion for URCA and a record of successful mentoring of students in research or creative activities. Applicants should be instructors or tenure track/tenured professors who have administrative and organizational skills, leadership experience, demonstrated ability working collaboratively, and strong communication and presentation skills. The DURCA will report to the AVC for Undergraduate Experiences and collaborate with staff in the Experiential Learning Center to support the undergraduate research enterprise at CU Denver and CU AMC. The position requires approximately 20% of the DURCA’s salaried time, which is compensated by course release(s), professional-development funds, or summer salary.
