Gabriela Galindo

Gabriela Galindo, Tonalli Teopapalotl, is a weaving of various Indigenous lineages including Nahua and Wixárika as well as Spanish and African lineages. Gabriela enlisted in the U.S. military, graduated with a B.S. in Human Nutrition and offered nutrition and breastfeeding in public health before moving on to  holistic health of people and Mother Earth.

Gabriela completed farm, seed saving and natural dyeing apprenticeships concurrently in 2022 at Frontline Farming, learning about the inequities in food and farming systems. As a fellow in the 2022-2023 Colorado Water Fellowship, she continues to work on a collaborative project with a mobile home community in Boulder, CO to help grow their community leadership and implement ecological solutions for their 20+ years long clean water crisis. 

Gabriela has completed the Mountain Herbalism Field Botany course through visiting different ecosystems and guiding conversations around the impacts of unethical harvesting and colonization on land, plants, people and the global climate crisis. She advocates for the preservation and protection of sacred Indigenous medicines, cultures, traditions and ecosystems.

Tonalli Teopapalotl is an Aztec dancer and Sahumadora with Grupo Tlahuitzcalli, a strong Mexica community rooted in Teotihuacan (Mexico City) and Tehuayo ( Boulder Valley). She is the Program Coordinator for FLOWS, a Women of Color led and founded nonprofit creating climate solutions for and by Indigenous and Communities of Color. She is an independent consultant with Once and Future Green, currently helping develop recommendations for local government to support Frontline communities access federal funds for a cleaner, more just future for all life.
