Biography: A native of Armenia, Simon Maghakyan is a Denver-based researcher and organizer. His civic tenure includes nonpartisan service at Colorado's legislature, human rights monitoring and advocacy at Amnesty International USA, and leadership in the Armenian American community. He is currently a non-resident PhD student in heritage crime at Great Britain's Cranfield University, and a non-resident Visiting Scholar at Tufts University. Previously, Maghakyan was a lecturer in international relations at the University of Colorado Denver. Maghakyan's writing has appeared in numerous media outlets, including The Denver Post, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. His investigative research into the ongoing erasure of medieval Armenian monuments has been cited by international courts and praised as "rock solid" by The Guardian.
