Access Student Email

Students are expected to check their CU Denver email address on a frequent and consistent basis in order to stay current with university communications. When connecting with faculty and staff at the university be sure to include your Student ID and pertinent course information.

Submit Transcripts & Score Reports

Official transcripts and score reports are required to finalize your transfer evaluation and remain eligible to register for classes. Students may earn transfer credit through previous college coursework including concurrent enrollment, prior learning assessments (AP/IB/CLEP/A-Levels), and/or military experience.

Complete Placement Tests 

Placement tests help determine the appropriate course level to support your academic success. Depending on your major and/or track, you may be required to complete placement testing before registering for classes.

► Take the General Chemistry Readiness Assessment (GCAT)

Finalize Class Schedule 

Students are advised to finalize class schedules before the add/drop deadline (Census Day). The academic calendar should be consulted for important dates and deadlines, including the opening and closing of registration for each term.

Check Canvas

Canvas is the learning management system used at CU Denver for accessing and managing online course materials, including course syllabi. Whether a course is in‑person, hybrid, or fully online, a corresponding Canvas course shell will be available for that course.

Review Transfer Evaluation 

Students should carefully review their transfer evaluation for accuracy before the start of their first semester. Academic advisors are available to help students understand their evaluation and ensure that transfer credits are applied effectively toward degree requirements. If a student believes a course has not been accurately evaluated, they may submit a reevaluation request.

Academic advisors can assist with navigating university expectations and supporting the development of a strong foundation for academic success.
