Incoming Students

The information below is intended for incoming CLAS students who have already attended a New Student Orientation Registration Day. During your session, you likely identified important follow-up items to be completed. Review the steps below to prepare for your first semester. 

After Registration Day

All incoming students should begin using their CU Denver student email as their primary account:

  • Check your university inbox regularly
  • Use your student email when emailing faculty and staff
  • Properly format and proofread emails before sending
  • Include student ID numbers and pertinent course information

Submit any outstanding transfer credit and/or transcripts, including:

  • High School and College Transcripts
  • AP/IB
  • CLEP
  • JST/Military credit

Complete any needed placement tests, including:

  • ALEKS Math Placement
  • General Chemistry Assessment Test (GCAT)
  • Modern Languages Placement Exams

Review course registration and be sure to:

  • Review transfer evaluation if applicable
  • Check for full-time vs part-time enrollment 
  • Confirm course modalities
  • Make any necessary changes prior to the add/drop deadline

To prepare for your first week of classes:

  • Check Canvas for course syllabi, materials, and announcements
  • Pick up your CU Denver student ID at the Campus ID Station
  • Purchase or rent textbooks early through Tivoli Station bookstore or online
  • Familiarize yourself with your class locations and parking or RTD routes

Health Profession Advising - connect to plan a course of study designed for your pre-health track

Consult the academic calendar to view important dates and deadlines, including when registration will open and close for each term
