Enroll at Alliance for Community and Justice Innovation (ACJI) and Decide If You Would Benefit From CU Denver Credit
If you are interested in the Community Care Practitioner I microcredential, you should first enroll in the ACJI self-paced course.
After completion, you'll receive your credential from ACJI, but your journey doesn't have to stop there:
- Would it benefit your professional career to have your credential backed by the University of Colorado Denver?
- Are you interested in the Community Care Practitioner II microcredential?
If your answer is "yes" to any of the above questions, we recommend you follow the steps below to receive credit from CU Denver.
How Does the CU Denver Credentialing Process Work?
In order to have your Community Care Practicioner I microcredential backed by CU Denver, you'll need to apply to CU Denver as a Continuing and Professional Education Student following the steps below— perferably while you're completing ACJI's self-paced course as the application process can take some time. You'll then enroll in one of two CU Denver courses: a course for traditional academic credit which can be used towards other degrees or an equivalent course for noncredit continuing education units (CEUs) which are sometimes required by specific professional credentialing fields. You'll likely know already if you need CEUs.
Either course you choose will be used as a link to ACJI's course. Once you complete the ACJI course and get your Community Care Practicioner I microcredential, ACJI will notify CU Denver and you'll recieve credit for the CU Denver course, gaining a badge from CU Denver which verifies the university's support— including university credit.
You will then have a Community Care Practicioner I microcredential backed by ACJI and CU Denver.
How Do I Get the Community Care Practicioner II Microcredential?
To receieve the Community Care Practicioner II microcredential, you'll continue your training with CU Denver— enrolling in one of two CU Denver courses. Like the Community Care Practicioner I microcredential, these two course only differ in the type of credit (academic or CEU) they provide. This can be done during a future semester.
Once the course is complete with a passing grade, you will recieve a microcredential from CU Denver for the Community Care Practicioner II— including a badge verifying your success.
