Kelly Soberay

Kelly Soberay, PhD (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Golden VA Community Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), for the Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) Program. She is a primary supervisor for the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System Psychology Postdoctoral Residency Program and a secondary supervisor for the Psychology Internship Program, within the PC-MHI tracks. Her professional interests include improving access to affirmative and supportive care to historically marginalized and clinically high-risk Veterans. She is a member of the Mental Health Services’ LGBTQ+ Program Workgroup and the Psychology Residency Training Committee. She also continues to stay connected to the University of Colorado Denver Psychology Department as Lecturer to undergraduate classes.

Kelly completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral residency with the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center and Golden VA CBOC, in the Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) track. She graduated from our APA-accredited clinical health psychology doctoral program with her PhD in 2021. Prior to this, she earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver in 2010 and a dual BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Dayton in 2005.

Kelly has clinical and research related experience with underserved populations in integrated primary care, military psychology, the chronic pain community and their partners, suicide prevention and intervention, and dissemination and implementation science. She spends her time outside of work learning about dinosaurs, animals, and trains at local museums, losing in sports to her children, and camping with her family and their Saint Bernard.
