Graduate and Undergraduate Research Assistance and Information

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has competitive funding for students who have been accepted to present their research at a conference. Students at all levels are eligible to apply if they will be presenting a paper or poster and are current students at the time of the conference. Up to $500 may be awarded per academic year from the College in support of this travel. Please complete the appropriate application form and e-mail the completed form to Laura.Argys@UCDenver.edu.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has a strong interest in helping create and sustain a diverse scientific research workforce.  To that end, they have a program to provide generous financial assistance to students pursuing graduate degrees in NSF-supported areas that include the Biological Sciences, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, and Education and Human Resources.

The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. GRFP seeks to broaden participation in science and engineering of underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support inclusive of tuition and an annual stipend of at least $37,000. 

GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who have demonstrated the potential to be high achieving scientists and engineers, early in their careers. To be eligible, applicants must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents pursuing full-time research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education at accredited US institutions.  Applications are accepted from students planning to attend or already enrolled (in the first or second year of a graduate program).
