The Sound of Forward Momentum

Ideas Worth Hearing. Research Worth Sharing.

Mixtape

Just like a mixtape, this isn't random — it's curated. CLAS MixTape brings together faculty, students, and community voices for short, compelling presentations on the ideas and challenges shaping our world.

Launched in 2023, MixTape is where liberal arts and sciences get loud. Each event features sharp talks on democracy, public health, social justice, sustainability, and more — the big questions CU Denver has been wrestling with for over 50 years. Our world-class faculty include students at all levels across their classrooms, research, and creative activities. Come curious. Leave with something to think about.

Spring 2026 Tracks: Research Presenters

Jennifer Boylan

Jennifer Boylan

Jennifer Morozink Boylan is a health psychologist and an associate professor in the Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. Using national, longitudinal survey data and laboratory-based assessments of stress reactivity and recovery, her research addresses positive psychological characteristics and their role in healthy aging, early-life circumstances that affect opportunities for health across the life-course, and the biological mechanisms that link our social environments to disease pathophysiology.

Joanne Addison

Joanne Addison

Dr. Warrener’s research focuses on the evolution of the human musculoskeletal system using biomechanical techniques to understand how variation in physical structure affects movement. Much of her research has focused on the evolution of the human pelvis and how its unique anatomy impacts both locomotion and birth. Her research has been featured in The New York Times, BBC, and Runner’s World.

Marino J. E. Resendiz

Marino Resendiz

Dr. Marino Resendiz is an Associate Professor in the department of chemistry at CU Denver.  His work focuses on structure-function relationships of chemically modified RNA to understand how these species are handled intracellularly as well as to develop tools and materials with potential therapeutic or sensing applications.

Jason Watson

Jason Watson

Dr. Watson is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at CU Denver with a longstanding interest in the control of attention, minimizing cognitive distractions, and so forth.  Dr. Watson's research has increasingly begun to focus on what impact interacting with nature or urban environments may have on affect and attention.  His most recent empirical work suggests interacting with nature may elicit emotional arousal to help calibrate the control of attention and optimize performance during certain cognitive tasks.
