Pursuing a certificate can further your understanding and knowledge while helping you become more effective in your career or in your community.
Whether you have a college degree or need undergraduate-level courses, you can earn your certificate in only four courses. You'll choose from the same curriculum offered to New Directions master's students, ranging from public policy analysis to administration, management, or budgeting, and community or labor organizing. And, if you decide to continue, all 12 of the credits you earn for a certificate could be applied to a full master's degree.

* You can complete an entire certificate by taking New Directions courses taught by experienced practitioners, mostly in our weekend intensive, in-person format. However, occasionally the standard Political Science Department will also offer elective courses that can be counted toward your certificate. Standard Political Science courses are likely to be offered in the evenings or online, and the cost will vary.
