Certificates

Pursuing a certificate can further your understanding and knowledge while helping you become more effective in current or future employment, or as a change agent in your community. Pursuing a graduate certificate can help you “test the waters” to see if you want to continue on to receive a Master’s degree.

Certificates:

Can be completed in a shorter period of time than a normal degree program.

Serve as a re-entry point to university course work for those who have been away from higher education for some period of time.

Are valuable to community leaders who want to enhance their leadership skills.

In some cases may fulfill continuing education requirements.

Courses counting toward New Directions program certificates may be offered either by New Directions lecturers who are practitioners in their fields of expertise or by members of the Political Science Department faculty. Because of this blend, not all courses may be offered in the New Directions intensive weekend format. If you are interested in a particular certificate but have questions about course format, please reach out to the Director via the contact information on the bottom of this page.
