The Council on Diversity and Inclusion has presented Dr. Ryan Crewe with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Award for Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion through Teaching! Dr. Crewe is the only faculty member outside Modern Languages who teaches a rotation of seminar courses focused on Latin America. Dr. Crewe has directly taught for the INTS program for two years, leading our INTS 4990 International Studies Capstone course each spring. Dr. Crewe has also served INTS students through his independent study courses and honors supervision, as well as other courses on Latin America: People and Politics on the Border; Modern Mexico; Social Revolutions in Latin America; Modern Latin America; and Colonial Latin America. INTS students rave about Dr. Crewe’s teaching, and his extensive independent study and honors project advising demonstrate that his mentoring and individual instruction advances the education of students from underrepresented groups.
