Berlin Program

Program Details:

For the seventh time, CU Denver will return to Berlin. The 2024 program will be exceptional insofar as we are able to offer seminars from three CLAS departments (Political Science, History, and Sociology) some of which also count towards the INTS major and the Sustainability minor.

As in previous years, the two PSCI courses focus on global environmental issues and sustainability as well as the political dynamics of dictatorships with a focus on Nazi and Communist Germany (GDR).

The SOCY seminar looks at minorities and other underrepresented groups in Berlin.

The HIST seminar will shine a critical light on Germany’s 19th century colonialism and its aftermath.

These seminars are offered as slash courses. Both undergraduate and graduate students can take them for credit.

In addition, we likely offer about 3-4 internships to qualified students.

Students can freely pick from the above-mentioned options (e.g., 1 internship and 3 classes or just all 4 classes).

Several scholarships are available through the PSCI Department and the Office of International Affairs. Eligible veterans will receive funding through VMSS. In the past, almost every student received some funding from any of these sources.
