Eligible students are welcome to apply for membership in Sigma Iota Rho (one time $45 for lifetime membership). If you are an eligible junior or senior, email Hamilton to start the application process.

In order to qualify for undergraduate membership, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed course work in international studies including courses in relevant subject areas of anthropology, economics, foreign languages, geography, history, political science, and other related disciplines;
  • Attained a junior standing and completed at least twenty-one (21) hours of course work toward the International Studies major or minor, including at least two courses at the 3000 or 4000 levels;
  • Attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher in all courses, and a grade point average of at least 3.4 in international studies courses.

In 2017, INTS students established a chapter of Sigma Iota Rho (SIR) at CU Denver. SIR is the national honor society for International Studies students.

If you are interested and believe that you may be eligible (check the requirements linked below; our records may be in error or incomplete), please email hamilton.bean@ucdenver for a time to meet. We will provide background about SIR, explain the induction process, and answer questions.

The benefits of joining SIR are highlighted on the organization’s website: http://www.sigmaiotarho.org/

This is a fantastic opportunity for eligible INTS juniors and seniors!
