“Last weekend I had the privilege of attending MESA’s annual conference in Denver. The Middle East Studies Association is a nonprofit organization that fosters academic scholarship and teaching about the Middle East. I participated as a student about the academic world, my area of study, and my future learning. I attended two panels about Yemen, which pertains to my current capstone project in INTS. By meeting with various experts and hearing new information, I was able to learn new ideas which will help further both my capstone and my future scholarship. I also spoke with various publishers whose books I had read and some even owned and made essential connections. This was a formative experience for me as a young scholar in Middle East studies. I am thankful to the university for allowing me to go and continuing my study.”
