International Relations/Marketing (remote)

Join a consulting firm that provides strategic marketing services, including strategy development, branding and positioning, content marketing, search and insights, and market planning. This placement allows interns to work with UK businesses and international NGOs, and to gain visibility with high-profile organizations. Intern responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research which could include international/global projects working with UN ambassadors and players
  • Using WordPress and Joomla to update the website and blogs
  • Creating content and design work for social media channels
  • Executing email marketing campaigns and monthly email newsletters

ONETrack International is a Boston-based 501c3 charity organization that takes orphaned children from the Republic of Cameroon out of their orphanages and places them in the households of surviving family members in West Africa.

Responsibilities

The Adult Education Intern assists newly arrived refugee clients in a multi-level and culturally diverse English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) classroom to gain English literacy and comprehension skills. This intern will also assist in supporting logistics for cultural orientation classes, where newly arrived refugee clients gain an understanding of community resources and expectations for the resettlement period.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESL

•   Assist with record-keeping, data entry, and file maintenance to support ESOL program administration, among other tasks.

•   Arrange for interpretation as needed to answer student inquiries.

•   Assist in preparing educational materials as requested by instructor.

•   Assist instructor in daily classroom activities including one on one tutoring and leading small groups, and serving as substitute instructor as needed. 

•   Assist in administering end-of-term student language assessments and surveys.

Cultural Orientation

•   Provide monthly logistical assistance for CO classes, including setting up the physical classroom space, preparing materials, ordering lunch, and helping with documentation, among other tasks.

•   Contact clients to provide reminders prior to each CO class.

•   For each training complete assessment forms with each client to assess their understanding of cultural orientation content.

•   Facilitate CO classes in one-on-one and group settings as needed in English or other languages with interpreters.

Duties

  • Updating Congressional and legislative trackers on a daily basis 
  • Assisting with research and drafting policy memos and Congressional education resources such as fact sheets, backgrounders, messaging guidance, and hearing questions
  • Learning about public policy and the legislative process by assisting staff and attending and reporting on legislative hearings, briefings, rallies, and related events
  • Monitoring legislative and news developments on Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, North Korea, arms sales, the defense budget, nuclear weapons policy, climate security, international development, peacebuilding, civilian protection, global public health, refugee and asylum policies, border militarization, and related issues
  • Supporting content drafting, editing, and QC (Congressional advocacy emails, op-eds, press releases, messaging guides, and newsletters)
  • Supporting staff with organizational data and software management
  • Supporting staff with other programmatic work when necessary 

 

Communications, Social Media & PR Internship
