Dear International Studies (INTS) Community,

We are looking forward to the start of the fall 2020 semester and hoping that CU Denver's steps to manage online/remote learning and a partial return to campus will prove successful. Courses that count for the INTS major or minor will be offered in online/remote formats this fall. The INTS program office (Dr. Alison Shah and Dr. Hamilton Bean) will also be supporting students via email, phone, and Zoom this fall. We are happy to schedule a time to meet with students virtually to discuss courses, scholarly opportunities, and professional plans. Office signs will direct walk-in students to contact us. Generally, morning appointments are preferred, but we will accommodate students' schedules.

Despite the challenges of Covid-19, the INTS program is adapting to conditions to ensure that students meet their academic and professional goals. Items included in our August 2020 Newsletter detail new (remote) internship opportunities, information sessions on diplomatic careers, alumni interviews, and other items. Finally, while international travel is on hold for fall, we encourage students to begin thinking about how a short- or long-term study abroad opportunity might be incorporated into their degree plan once travel restrictions ease.

We are grateful for our community of INTS students, instructors, alumni, advisors, and stakeholders and hope everyone is able to stay healthy and safe. Check out updates and resources here: https://www.ucdenver.edu/safe-return-to-campus-fall-2020

Please share with us ideas about how we can best support you this fall and beyond.

Sincerely,

Hamilton and Alison
