INTS 4990 students this fall will see a module with important career preparation information and activities (including graduate school options). Students are often unsure about how to begin organizing their job search, what kinds of information will be useful to employers, or how graduate school might fit with one’s career path. By reading selections from Careers in International Affairs (ninth edition), viewing videos, and completing quizzes and assignments, students will gain confidence in pursuing their career options. Students will complete a set of professional tasks needed before the job search begins. While chapters one and two of Careers in International Affairs are included in this module, the entire volume is on reserve in the Auraria Library (electronic). The volume provides detailed information on types of employers, as well as a directory of organizations. Students are strongly encouraged to review the entire volume.

A description of portions of this module is below:

Career Preparation
This portion of the module includes highlights of successful INTS students and alumni, explains how INTS majors should prepare for the job search, and asks students to complete career preparation tasks based on selections from Careers in International Affairs.

Graduate School Resources
Not every INTS program graduate chooses to attend graduate school, but understanding the reasons to add a graduate degree, and learning about the diversity of options (for now or in the future), is a valuable part of completing your undergraduate education. Preparing a few materials while you are still enrolled in college makes applying much easier if you decide to seek a higher degree in the future.
