At the Communication Department graduation ceremony last week, graduating senior Anya Dickson (pictured at right) mentioned to INTS Director, Dr. Hamilton Bean, that her academic and professional path had been indelibly shaped by an email that Dr. Bean had sent regarding the LAGRANT Foundation scholarship. The first time Dr. Bean sent the email to the listserv, Anya ignored it. The second time he sent it, however, she decided to apply, earned the scholarship, which led to further opportunities and eventually to a post-graduation position at Google.
