Please Review the Recently Updated Course Format Guide
The Course Format Guide has been updated and the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning encourages all faculty and staff to make sure they understand the updates. This information is for everyone at the university as we plan for future semesters. Please don't hesitate to reach out to CETL if you have any questions about the Course Format Guide or any other teaching and/or learning questions.
Auraria Library is trialing a new interface for the discovery of and access to journals.
We would like your feedback as we may replace our current interface. Both the current (the Journal List) and new interfaces allow you to search or browse for journals based on title, subject, keyword, or ISSN. This is NOT where you would search for articles.
Please provide feedback about the trial interface via this online feedback form. The trial will run through June 8, 2021.
Thank you,

M.S. Candidates Successfully Defend Thesis
The Department is pleased to announce that M.S. Candidates, Gabrielle Rietz, Jacob Carson and Kyle Turchick successfully defended their thesis last week! CONGRATULATIONS to all!
Nick Bard (MS, 2018) recently published his M.S. thesis research in Conservation Genetics with co-authors Associate Professor Chris Miller and Professor Emeritus Leo P Bruederle (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10592-020-01326-x). Using ddRADseq, they document higher than expected population genomic diversity and paraphyly in the imperiled and narrowly distributed edaphic endemic sedge Carex scirpoidea subsp. convoluta (Cyperaceae), which is primarily limited to alvar soils on the northern shores of Lake Huron. Nick received considerable support from Integrative Biology, as well as the American Society of Plant Taxonomists and Botanical Society of America. He is currently a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Botany at The University of British Columbia.

Along its path to becoming an equity-serving institution, although not yet officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, CU Denver reached the threshold to be considered both a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). CU Denver becomes the first research university in the state to attain such statuses. To qualify as an HSI, a university must have undergraduate full-time enrollment that is comprised of at least 25% Hispanic students and 10% for ANNAPISI.
