The Department would like to announce the recipients of our 2022 Spring Student Excellence Awards. This year we had four awardees, two graduate students and one undergraduate student in the Research Award category, and one undergraduate student in the Teaching Award category. Students were allowed to submit self-nominations but also had to have recommendations from faculty to be considered. Each student was awarded $250 to use however they wished. Congratulations to our 2022 Spring awardees, you all deserve this recognition for all your hard work and dedication!
Excellence in Research Award - The Spring 2022 Integrative Biology Graduate and Undergraduate Student Excellence in Research Award is for students that excel in scholarly activities that make an original, intellectual, or creative contribution to the biology discipline (including the scholarship of biology teaching and learning). Students were selected based on their strong record of engagement, growth, independence, and knowledge in research.

Excellence in Teaching Award is for students that excel in formal teaching-related activities (e.g., teaching assistants, learning assistants, tutors, supplemental instructors, etc.). Students were selected based on their strong record of engagement, growth, independence, and knowledge in teaching.
